Terms of Service
These terms cover every video you order from Storyhand Studio ("we", "us"). By ticking the box on the order page and placing an order, you ("you", the client) agree to them. We've written them in plain English. If anything is unclear, email hello@storyhandstudio.com before you order.
1. What you get
Each video includes what its product page and the order page describe at the time you order: script, voiceover, music, captions, one round of revisions and, for ads and reels, suggested post text. Extras you add (extra size, extra opening, extra revision, rush) are included as described on the order page.
We deliver a finished video file you can download. Our working files (scripts in progress, project files, unused takes and drafts) stay with us and are not part of the delivery.
2. Payment
- Quick promos and spokesperson ads are paid in full when you order.
- Animated shorts and animated stories are paid in two halves: 50% when you order, and 50% when your film is ready. We send you a watermarked preview and an invoice for the second half. Once it's paid, we send the clean, final files.
- Payments are taken by card through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Prices are the same for everyone and are shown in US dollars before you pay.
- If the second half of a film isn't paid within 30 days of the preview, we may close the project. You keep the right to ask us to finish it once it's paid.
3. Timing
Delivery times are counted in business days from when we have both your payment and your brief: 3 business days for ads and reels, 7 for animated films, or the rush times shown on the order page. If we need an answer or a file from you, the clock pauses until we have it.
4. Revisions
One round of revisions is included. A round means one list of changes, sent together, to the video we delivered. Changes should stay within the script or story you approved. A completely new idea, script or story counts as a new order. Please send your revision within 14 days of delivery. After that, we treat the video as accepted. You can add more rounds for $75 each.
5. Refund and cancellation policy
- Before we start: if you cancel before we send your first script or story concepts, we refund everything you paid.
- After we start: payments are not refundable once we've sent your first script or story concepts. Your included revision still applies, and we'll work with you to get the video right.
- If we can't deliver: if we decline your order, can't make your video, or miss your delivery date by more than 5 business days and you'd rather cancel, we refund everything you paid for that order. If you paid for rush and we miss the rush date, we refund the rush fee.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with. Your bank may take 5 to 10 business days to show them.
- To cancel or ask for a refund, email hello@storyhandstudio.com with your order number. Please talk to us before disputing a charge with your bank. We answer every email.
6. Who owns the video
Once your order is paid in full, the finished video is yours. We transfer to you all the rights we have in it, and you can use it on any channel, in any market, for as long as you like, with no further fees.
A few parts of a video are licensed rather than owned outright, such as music, fonts, stock footage and digitally created presenters and voices. You may use them as part of your video, forever, but not on their own (for example, you can't pull the music out and use it in a different video, or use a presenter's face in other ads or materials).
Until your order is paid in full, the video and every draft and preview remain ours.
7. Showing your video as an example of our work
By placing an order, you give us permission to show your finished video, still images from it, and your business name and logo as examples of our work. This includes our website, our social media accounts, our ads, and samples we send to prospective clients. This permission is free, worldwide and doesn't expire, and it's not exclusive (it doesn't limit how you use your video).
We'll only ever show the finished video you approved. We never share your uploaded photos, voice notes, brief, drafts or anything you sent us privately, and we never make up results or quotes on your behalf.
Opting out: if you'd rather we didn't show your video, email hello@storyhandstudio.com at any time, before or after delivery. We'll stop using it in anything new and take it down from our website and social accounts within 14 days. We can't recall copies other people have already shared or saved.
8. What you send us
You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, everything you send us: photos, logos, audio, music, text and anything else. If your materials show or name real people (staff, customers, family), you confirm they've agreed to appear in an ad. You give us permission to use your materials to make your video and, as described in section 7, to show the finished video.
You're responsible for what your ad says about your business: offers, prices, claims and results must be true and allowed where you advertise. If someone makes a claim against us because of materials you sent or claims you asked us to include, you agree to cover our reasonable costs.
9. Digitally created presenters
Some videos use presenters, voices or people who are digitally created rather than filmed. They are not real customers or employees. Every video with a realistic person carries the label "AI-generated dramatization", as US advertising rules require. You agree to:
- keep that label on the video wherever you post it;
- turn on any label a platform asks for when content is altered or synthetic;
- never present a digitally created person as a real customer, a real review or a real employee.
10. What we won't make
We can decline any order, with a full refund. We won't make videos that are illegal, misleading or hateful, that use a real person's face, voice or name without their permission, that copy someone else's brand or copyrighted work, or that are sexual or violent.
11. Limits
We make every video with care, but we can't promise how an ad will perform, and we're not responsible for a platform rejecting an ad, limiting an account or changing its rules. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we're not responsible for indirect losses such as lost sales or profits.
12. Your information
How we handle what you send us is explained in our Privacy Policy.
13. Disputes and governing law
If something goes wrong, please email us first and we'll do our best to put it right. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, and any dispute that can't be settled by talking will be handled in the courts of North Carolina.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to that order. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
